Pillow Talk

I think men and women have "talking" and "sex" in opposite rolls.

I was laying in bed last night and my wife wants to spend some quality time chatting. Personally, I'm looking back at the three hours that we spent 1' away from each other previously as the PERFECT fucking time to talk vs. the "I'm trying to fucking sleep" time but knowing that there's no way to win that battle I play along.

Women want to talk. Men want to screw. Either have a 50/50 chance of not wanting to do the other. It's not that either don't "want" to play along with the other, there's just other priorities.

I guess you've got to got to play each others game once in a while.

Movie Weekend

Had a really great weekend (other than some physical issues discussed elsewhere). We had a short day at work on Friday so I took the family for a little outing. We went out to eat, did some shopping, lots of quality family time and it was nice.

When I got home I learned that the show "High Five" is just about the most horrible show ever created. The kids love it but wow. That's a one episode, once a day show right there.

I picked up some new UA polo shirts (on sale) which pretty much gives me the entire line of colors. That's pretty depressing :) I don't remember when having a good variety of polo shirts became important but apparantly it did. For some reason I have like 3 (non work related) T-Shirts and a closet full of collared shirts. When did I get old?!!!

Another little cool thing I got was a bag of boxing stuff. I used mma gloves on the punching bag last week. The gloves are awesome but I lost all the skin off my 2nd knuckles and a week later they're still hamburger SO I figured why not buy the right equipment for the job? We got home and my older daughter, who will cry if she's not wearing a dress\won't get her hands dirty\loves make up and jewelry, put them on, growled, and punched my youngest daughter in the forehead. Me and the wife were sitting there in shock. The little one just had a "what the hell?" look. The older one giggled and ran off. Craziness.

Yesterday I watched Spiderman 3 and Beowulf. SM3 = somewhat gay. Too much going on. The actors were good. The individual portions were good. The pace was just forced. The whole "pimp Peter Parker" thing was way too...everything. It didn't have the "evil" impression so much as the "fag". Let's stick to the evil.

Beowulf was pretty cool. I've never been exposed to anything Beowulf before so I can't comment on how faithful it was to the book but the movie kept a pretty tight focus and stayed interesting from start to finish. The action was very believable for the most part and the graphics were superb other than a couple places.

American Gladiators

I downloaded and watched ep4 of "American Gladiators" yesterday. That was a fun little experiance. It's been a long time since I've seen the original but I think this round of Gladiators are a lot more athletic than the last generation. It seems like the older crew were "bigger", these guys look like they're really good at athletic...everything.

The show itself was surprisingly similar to the original. Kind of neat, not something that I'd go too far out of my way for but it was a fun little thing. Two things that I noticed:

1. The Gladiators were holding back and trying to make everything look really dramatic. They'd get in a position to do "something" and then change up to do something a little more elaborate. "Wolf" was on top of a pyramid and was trying to keep the guy off of it. The thing is he didn't run up and grab him, he'd leap from 20' away and fling him over the edge. One of the female gladiators got was pulling a lady off the a climbing wall and in stead of just grabbing her leg she climbed her and got her in some sort of rear naked monkey lock thing.

2. The contestants are competing for a chance to be a gladiator. There's no way. The gladiators are all 6'+ at around 200lbs lean. The 'big" contestant was 5'10 160. There's no way tiny could stop wolf from climbing the pyramid...none.

********
I also watched UFC All Access Randy Couture (sp?). I'll take back my drug allegations. It's not beyond the realm of possibility but he's got all the access to every awesome training thing\people in the world w\ a good attitude and good head.

Arggg

I watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3 yesterday. Gotta say that it was pretty decent. I remember a lot of people not liking it but I was able to follow it from start to finish with no issues and stayed pretty interested the whole time. Thought the characters were interesting and the movie plugged right along. The ending was a little gay but I never liked Orlando Bloom's character anyway.

A new day

It's been a bit. The mom-in-law is gone and the wife and kids are back! Everything is going well.

Our baby sitter is quitting on us. Considering the ass pain it was getting her it looks like Melissa is probably going to end up quitting her job. Over all I'm not bent out of shape about it at all. She doesn't make a lot of cash, we never see each other, and picking up the kids tacked on another 40min or so to my day. It'd be kind of cool to eat dinner together again.

I beat "The Simpsons Game" for the PS3. If you get a chance to pick that up...pass. It's better than the demo makes it out to be (aka freaking HARD) but it's not as good as it should have been if they would have tightened up the controls. There's several areas in the game where you're jumping over water\lava\bottomless pits but it's really hard to gauge the jumps. You land in the "stuff" and you're dead...and you have to jump 15 times...so you die a lot...and swear...you'd throw the controller but it's $40 freaking dollars so you develop a burning sensation in your chest and your arm gets tingly. Good times.

I bought "kickboxer" in the $5 movie bin. That's a blast from the past and a movie that captured my heart and mind as a youth. Popped it in the DVD player last night while the wife was snorting her "diner dash" crack on the PC. Holy crap balls is that a bad movie. Not a little bad, it's all the way bad. There is not one redeemable part to the whole thing other than the dancing scene in the bar. He's going around screaming and flexing his oiled up bod. At first it was "wow, he's pretty jacked". Then you move on to "why is he doing that? stop it!! how does this posing contribute in any way? DAMN IT!!"

Almost done reading "Made in America: The Matt Hughes Story". Matt is a big UFC stud and this is his story...blah blah blah. It's kind of interesting in the way that you can believe what is there. The book comes off like he wrote it...judging from the Chuck Lidell\Tito Ortiz\ect books that all came out in rapid succession I tend to think he more told stories and someone wrote them all down. The book itself doesn't really do anything but confirm that he really is a bit of a jackass. He's also very driven and dedicated to being the best, so there ya go. Makes for an interesting glimpse into someone else's world.

Yawn

Well, the house is empty. The wife took the kids and mom #2...somewhere for the next couple of days. Now I'm lonely...crap.

Had a pretty good weekend all things considered. Had a card game\drink fest on Friday. That sort of thing makes me realize how low brow I really am. I like drinking a lot, smoking, and getting loud, listening to loud music, seeing someone get hit...titties bouncing...having a bouncer size you up to see if you're worth messing with...you know..."fun". Apparently I'm now "that guy" in our little group of nice people. Everyone else is chilling with gin and tonic *gag* and discussing....something involving faggotry. I'm kicking back budweizer looking for the bitches.

Long story short, I mis planned the hydration\food in the belly and ended up getting way more drunk than needed. Spent the weekend with the kids playing Barbie thinking that perhaps my low brow tendencies might best be shelved. Good times yes...perhaps not necessary.

On a bright note, thanks to his colon exploding I'm back ahead of Gabe on the "size o meter".
Suck it tiny.

Mom

So my mom in law is down to 1 wk as of tomorrow. Yay to having my house back! That's pretty much it. I got in "The Ultimate Fighter S4" which is my personal crack. Watched an episode of that...went to bed early. The wife was having none of my going to bed early. Got lucky but I'm tired. Not sure if it was worth it.
